Layout Design

This site is suppoesd to give suggestions, knowlegde, tips and triocks for teh construction of your layout. First of all, a number of track plans are presented. Especially beginners are grateful for every grateful tip helping them to plan their first own layout. But also advanced model railway enthusiasts can profit from these plans and find useful tips and ideas there.

Here there are 15 plans from the track plan book 0330 which was printed during the 1960ies. Instead the metal bridges also the newer plastic bridges can be used. In this case also think of the additional track pieces you need. Of course you can also built these laysouts with K track or C track.Using a track plan programes, it's quite easy to draw a plan for another track system.

"K-Gleisanlagen für Einsteiger" - "K Track layouts for beginners" is the title of the track plan book 0720, which was offered by Märklin during the 1990ies. The book
was dealing with basic elements of layout construction - like teh prototype, laying tracks, analogue and digital control, planning etc. - it also kept five track plans for K track system.

1983 Märklin presented a prospect "Ideensammlung von Märklin HO", which gave useful tips for the installion and operation of Märklin HO model railways. Also the construction of a layout was described, including a track plan an many pictures. On the following site, this description is presented once again. More...

 

 


This layout has been presented in the 1988 Primex Catalogue for the first time. So it's also a little bit "antique".The Primex tracks ystem has been used for this layout, which is nearly the same as the Märklin M track, only with bright grey ballast. Of course, you can also use the "normal" M-track or another track system for this layout, K-track or C-track for example. More...
