| Castle Ruin - Scratchbuilding With Heki-Dur Sheets |
This model was
built with Heki-Dur sheeds. Those sheets consist of styroplast, a material similiar
to styrofoam.
The single parts were cut out of the sheets and stuck together. To cut these sheets, use a sharp knife, to get clear edges. Using a blurred, worn up blade, the material is breaking, the edges become unclear.
The sheets are structured only on one side, so every wall had to be put together of two wall parts. Don't use plastic glue for sticking styroplast! It affects the material, and finally, corrodes it. For painting the Heki Dur sheeds, simple water colours can be taken. You can paint the styroplast without any problems with these colours.
