Kit Bashing

2. 1950ies' Town Houses

Now lets have a look on three other examples for models which were build by assembling parts from several different kits. I didn't built the models on this site myself; instead, I got them as heirlooms. Nevertheless, I try to give short description about the way they are assembled.

Picture 4 shows a typical row of town houses like they were built during the 1950ies. Therefore parts from several old Faller kits have been used. The gable walls were cut out of wall sheets.

This is a fix row, i.e. the houses are stuck together. So they can't be put on the layout as single house, but only as a complete row.

"Liana Moden" has been built the same way. The back wall was assembled of overzealous kit parts and remainders of wall sheets, the gable walls were cut out of wall sheets.

Construction of the drug store has been done the same way. The drug store as well, which however, is a single model. Both houses were only put on together for the photograph.
