Simplified Primex Models

During its first years, also Märklin's Primex programe only consisted of more or less simplified models. Imbued plastic was used for the bodies, lettering and valve gear rods were simplified or even completely omitted. On some locos. even the electric relais were replaced by cheap manual levers.

Another quite curious model was a railcar of the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn, Beh 4/8. Allthough the prototype is running on narrow gauge, the model was built for standart gauge....

The gaudy low-sided wagons have real toy charackter. Allthough grey was used by the SBB for freight cars, as well as the DB painted maintenance cars in yellow, the models were designed just for starter sets adressing little children.
