| Electric Locomotive 3008 / 3011 | |||
| As model #3011, the E 44 was a classical Märklin model. The Primex model was offered as #3011 in 1974 for the first time, from 1975 to 1982 as #3008. In 1989, a blue and a grey version were offered as part of the set #2702. The chassis is an interesting construction. Allthough the prototype has two bogies, the model's two middle axkles are mounted in the chassis' frame. The bogies are only dummies, in which the exterior axles are mounted; they can swing out. The headstocks are mounted on the locomotive's frame, not on the bogies, like it would be prototypical. |

The locomotive had the same running number like the Märklin model - E 44 039. Beyond the exhaustors one of the "oil holes" can be seen - they are placed exactly over the bearings of the motor. So the bearings can be oiled without having to dmeount the locomotive's shell.The last green version between 1980 and 1982 didn't have these "holes" any longer, to improve the model's optics.

As part of the set #2702 a blue-beige version was produced in 1989. It got the running number 144 021-3. Another optical improvement were the prototypical, fine pantographs. | ||

Another version in the set #2702 was a E 44 in the grey, livry, the design which was usual for electric locomotives in the 1930ies. |
