What is "Primex"? Primex - this was the name for a special model train programe offered by Märklin between 1969 and 1992 which consisted not only of trains, tracks or transformers but also of an interesting choice of accessoires for the layout. Allthough quite popular among "real" model railroaders as well as among beginners because of its interesting versions of Märklin models, in the last years even revised constructions - Primex was discontinued in 1992. These sites are supposed to remember this fascinating part of model railway history. It not only shows all Primex trains ever built, but also describes what were the distinctions of Primex. It shows the simplifications of the early Primex trains as well as what Märklin components were used for the revised constructions of the late years. I also want to thank several other model train enthusiasts for their help on these sites!
