The Primex Track System
 

The system of Primex consisted of optically simplified Märklin M-tracks. Instead of the bright brown ballast of the original M-track the track bed's colour was a kind of greywhich is only prototypical for a new track bed.

Not all original M-tracks were also available as Primex tracks, so no curved turnouts were offered. Moreover no single track sections weren't sold, only sets. This was a contribution to the special way Primex was sold. The sets contained for example either straight tracks, curved tracks, matching pieces or of switches with counterparts. Only the track feeder section 5074 and the plain track crossing 5085 were sold single, the plain track crossing however together with two matching pieces - which was however also the case for the original Märklin article.

There were no technical simplifications - the tracks were full compatible with the original Märklin M-tracks.

Please note: this list tries to give a complete overview over all tracks and track sets everd produced by Primex. Several of items were for only available for some years and were taken out of programe than, other ones first were came out later on.

Here we see an electromagnetical pair of turnouts. Turnouts were only offered in sets, togehter with the fitting matching pieces.
   
Straight tracks. Near the standart length of 180 mm, also matching pieces were produced - 90 mm - 1/2 of standart length and 22,5 mm - 1/8 of standart length.
   

Here with see packings contraining tracks sections with buffer stops and the packing containing the uncoupling track sections. Also here, the tracks were only offerd as sets, corresponding to the particular way of sale of Primex.

   
Curved tracks. Two radiuses were offered - 360 mm and 437,4 mm, but also counterparts for switches. Otherwise, no curved tracks were available, also no matching pieces. During the first years of Primex the industrial curves were offered instad of the 437,4 mm ones.
