The Primex Accessoires
 

Nearly every model train manufacturer offers - near a track system - also some other accessoires. This does not only mean the obligatory transformers (today also often digital components) but most often also control plates several other electrical parts.

Primex however offered wider assortment of accessoires which also meant parts necessary for construction and arrangement of a layout - like houses, cars, laterns, trees, figures etc. To some extent this was a contribution to the sale via supermarkets and department stores - the customer could purchase everthing he needed on-site. Selling via regular dealers doesn't bring this problem because dealers normally also offer the products of accessoires' manufacturers.

The elctrical accessoires were identical with those of Märklin, however only in another design and with the name "Primex" instead of "Märklin" on it.

   
   
Two types of transformers were offered by Primex: 10 VA and 30 VA. Here we see the 10 VA transformer which had the number #6401.
   
   
   
The control plate #7156 was the same as the Märklin control plate #7072 - it only had a yellow body instead of a blue one. The set also contained eight plugs and a blue cable. Also single cables were offered by Primex.

Street laterns were also part of the Primex accessoires assortment.

   
   
   
Set 1729 (above) consisted of four lighting sockets, set1 1719 (below) of 32 plugs and 8 sleeves.

Uder the numbers 1730, 1731 and 1732 packings with figures were offered.
   
   
 
Also kits of road vehicles were part of the Primex programe - they came from Kibri. There were also cpmplete cars offered, however a little bit simplified.
   
   
     
The well known Primex buildings were Heljan kits.
