The Railway Dicitonary - A Short Description

Did you ever have this porblem: you want to translate a text containing lots of technical terms from German into English or English into German. However, one doesn't find those terms in normal dictionaries? Only expensive spezialized could help,. but even there not every word can be found. In school, you've never heard about such terms, searching in old school books isn't very successful, too. What could "multi unit railcar" or "buffer stop" mean in German? This dictionary will help there. It's helping all those who are creating a homepage in the other language or also when you vist a page in the other language - often you come about technical terms unknown to you so far.

Of course there's a German-English version as well as an English-German version. It wouldn't make much sense offering only one version. The dictionary is based on a vocabulary list containing technical terms (for the field of railways and model railways) I collected since my homepage is available also in English. It's certainly not a complete colelction - however new terms are added from time to time. Also visitors can help to extend this colelction; there's a special form to send new items via email. I don't garantuee anyway that all translations proposed by this electronic dictionary are right; if you should find mistakes, don't hesitate to inform me via email!
